I began my painting career at the ripe age of 12 by painting a waterfall with
some craft paints and a cheap watercolor paintbrush on a piece of printing paper. Although I have chosen not to show the wonderful
craftsmanship of that piece, I would, however, like to emphasize my love for painting landscapes.
The digitalization of most landscape paintings is detrimental to the image,
so much so that I have decided to not post a handful of pieces. Sadly, these also happen to be the most detailed works.
This is from a picture my good friend Evi took while hiking somewhere in Europe. She got to keep the painting.
It's dated 2003.
I find watercolors are not merciful enough, so I rarely use them, but I was forced to once in art class,
and had fun with it. It's dated 2001.
I call this painting "Valentine" for the obvious reason of its coloring. I am not too fond of this piece
because it's overwhelmingly bright, pink, and it almost hurts my eyes to look at. I had to dull down the black some because
it had too much contrast with the pinkness of it all. I did have fun with the water. I wish the more careful details showed
themselves even through the scanner; the water is very much fun when face to face with it. I think I gave it to Joy. It's
dated 2003.
I enjoyed the completion of this painting much. It was painted and given as a gift for my friend Ben. It
is dated for November of 2001.
This is a re-make of a crappier one I did. I got mad at it's ugliness so I made a prettier one. But guess
what? Yep, my grandma got it for Christmas. I am guessing it was painted in October of 2001.
This is the second one of these I have done. They look pretty much the same but the other one had more appropriate
colors and better placement and style of branches. The first one was given to my friend Anne and this one is my father's.
It's dated for 2000.
This is actually the second time I've painted this picture, with the small difference of the sunsets consisting
of widely different colors. To be perfectly honest, if it weren't for my records, I wouldn't remember the first
version of this painting, and I have no idea where it can be found. Either way, the piece shown here was painted
for a good friend, Katie Lapp. It was her favorite color, purple, that influenced the color change in this second rendition.
It's dated for 2002.
This piece goes to prove that the gift of art is very useful when you forget mother's day. I think it was
still wet when I gave it to her. It's dated for probably 2001.
