This is my new favorite painting, that's why it gets its own page. To draw the design for this painting,
I used two photographs (that resemble nothing of the painting) and a rough sketch I took at Cannon Beach. As a note to the
Observer, the photograph of it has, indeed, destroyed its quality, but I could not hold myself back. I spent more than 18
hours on it, it's actual size is 15x30 inches, and I used acrylics. It was dated in July of 2004.
The rocks to the right enlarged.

I had much fun with the clouds. Some think they're weird,
but I think they reflect the child's imagination. I tried to make them look more like big ships at the end of the world. I
just sort of happened upon the dog.
Painting the grass was altogether very tedious work, but putting
the orange highlights in made it all worth it.

This is a close-up of the sun setting, which can be found in the upper right hand corner
of the painting.
This is a close up of the reflection in the water/wet sand.
